History

The Green Briar opened in Brighton Center in 1989. Known as "a little
taste of Ireland," The Green Briar soon became a popular destination for
Irish sports, Irish music seissuns, great tasting affordable food, drink
and live entertainment.

In 1993, The Harp was created directly across from the original Boston
Garden arena. The Harp quickly became the best sports bar in town and
continues to create parties and fun for sports fans, and all who enjoy
lively nightlife.

After a short foray into a suburban market, The Briar Group opened a
newer, more upscale Irish pub, MJ O'Connor's, next to Boston's Park Plaza
Hotel in the year 2000. Hallmark cozy snugs, hand painted murals and
comfortable cushioned seating lay the foundation for the Irish influence
found in this remarkable retreat of traditional architecture and design.

2002 was a banner year for The Briar Group, doubling in size.  Ned Devine's & Parris, a combination of an upscale Irish pub and a high
energy live entertainment venue with a martini lounge, opened to instant
success and rave reviews in Faneuil Hall Marketplace.  The Briar Group
acquired all of the food and beverage in Boston's Lenox Hotel, and
created  three exciting new restaurant and bar concepts - Solas: an
upscale Irish pub, City Bar: a swank, alluring, metropolitan lounge.

Boston Event Solutions was created in 2004 to offer a
web-based event planning resource for parties, banquets and other events
in all of The Briar Group venues.

A leader in Boston's best Irish pubs, contemporary lounges, eclectic
dining and nightlife, with 11 concepts, 7 locations and 12 real estate
properties, The Briar Group has a passion for quality and is committed to
